Authentic Animation Cel - "Underdog" (Bloomington) $75

This is an authentic animation cel from the 1960s cartoon series "Underdog". I am not sure if it was actually used in the making of one of the cartoons (it lacks registration marks or other animation information), but it's the real thing; this cel was part of a lot of assorted animation cels I purchased from a noted auction house, and they had verified its authenticity.

Regardless, it's still a nice image of the beloved "Underdog"! It needs a better frame; I'd recommend having it mounted under a double matte of a large red border with a thin black border inside, such as the second photo. But you can use your imagination as far as how it is displayed.

Asking $75 OBO. A fairly rare item (and to think the studios used to throw all of these away after the film was made), and one that would be ideal for a collection of 1960s memorabilia!

Rare Gus Grissom Signature (Bloomington) $350

A very nice display item of two photos of Virgil Ivan "Gus" Grissom, the first a solo portrait and the second a group photo of the ill-fated Apollo 1 crew of Ed White, Gus, and Roger Chaffee.

The signature, with bold strokes, is in black ink on a German envelope; the envelope is from a series commemorating both American and Russian astronauts (Deutsche Raketen Gesellschaft e. U. Baustein 1 DM). There are actually several of these envelopes for sale on eBay at the moment, but none with the signature of the astronaut on the cover. Buying them along with this item would make an excellent start to an aerospace/astronautics collection!

The signature is authentic, purchased some time back from a noted auction house that specializes in space memorabilia.

Asking $350. This is within the typical range for a Grissom signature; they tend to sell between $250-$400 for a solo signature on a small item, such as this envelope. Even old bank checks signed by the astronauts, especially the Original Seven, can bring several hundred dollars!!

An excellent Xmas gift for that special person in your life!
