I have a Uniden 350a Police Scanner for sale. It needs an external antenna which you can get at Radio Shack for $5. Honestly, I've just been using a piece of copper wire as an antenna and it works really well.

These particular units have been discontinued, so you won't find them to often. Apparently you can modulate them to go beyond range and use them as cell phone listening devices. I've never tried, but it's just what I heard.

Unit has a digital LCD readout and can scan all the way up to the 500-800Mhz range.
