This book by Time-Life is a tribute to our National Park system. It covers the establishment and growth of the National Parks from the first parks and urban reserves set up in the 1872-1890 period through the next 140+ years establishing more parks, national wildlife refuges and national forests. The book abounds in photography including portfolios for William Henry Jackson, Ansel Adams and Galen Rowell along with images by so many others. Also a separate chapter on Alaska and all its diversity and beauty. A wonderful tool to both teach with and learn from. I have taken great care with this since purchasing it new many years ago.
