Legendary Honda reliability, it's been around for over 50 years and probably has another 50 in it! There's a good following for these vintage Hondas, and it only weighs 225 lbs as it sits! Lighter than current motocross bikes! riding weather is on its way! Inexpensive vintage fun!
Big enough that an adult can ride it but suitable for youth, the big wheels let them ride over good sized logs in the woods, traverse ditches, etc. better than the smaller wheeled bikes.
Good tires that don't leak down, it'll spin the rear tire in second gear even with an adult riding it when it revs out! And because it's a dual sport (never came to me with a title, though), 5th gear will take you up around 50 mph if you need to ride on the road a little, as this was made as an enduro bike.
Great kids/early teen bike. Starts easy and runs well even though it's been sitting a little while since my ex's son last rode it. He was 10-12 when he rode it and really enjoyed it. Time for someone else to get some fun out of it! I did have to put a new throttle cable on it because old one had seized from age from sitting the past year and a half. There's also a tear and a chunk missing from the seat, but overall surprisingly nice shape for being stored about 15 years before we got it from the original owner family.
Newer battery but it's kick start so best for an older kid, I'd say.
1973-1975 is the only year the earlier model bikes range. Because of this, items like the kickstart shaft bring $300 (for a single engine piece!) online to the crowd that vintage races these bikes. Also, with the exhaust being in good shape and not rusted, there was a similar one I saw when I was looking for a throttle cable on eBay that brought over $400!! It seems rare to find one with both side covers and a good gas tank, too, not rusted out. New fuel filter and lines recently.
